Sierra Business Council

The Sierra Business Council is a non-profit that supports communities in the Sierra Nevada with a range of projects that promote, develop and amplify the area’s social, environmental and economic capital. 

In 2009, Robert was hired as our financial consultant in effect to provide “CFO” services and perspectives.  

At the time, the SBC was in intense need of enhancing its financial processing and reporting.  Robert worked with our auditors, staff and assisted in bringing in new staff to secure this goal.  The results have been remarkable.  

Our financial information is now much more accurate and timely.  Our budgeting processes are more thorough, thoughtful and realistic.  

Robert presents a Power Point financial report at each Board meeting.  His presentations emphasize salient points in a way that communicates effectively even to those who dislike dealing with financial information.  He compares actual results to budget with an emphasis how the non-financial, every day actions relate to financial performance.  

His efforts have significantly changed the perception by which staff and the Board view our individual and collective contributions at SBC.
